Concerned Parents

If you're wondering "how can my child practice on a driving simulator", the best approach is for your principal or County Superintendent to understand the growing need for additional Driver Ed training in their high school or county.  By writing and requesting the addition of simulation as part of your child's public education, your decision maker will be equipped to gain the awareness and funding needed to support such a program.

The following is a sample letter that you can send directly to your County Superintendent (or modify slightly for delivery to your high school principal).  If you prefer, feel free to complete the quick form following the sample letter and we will submit the letter on your behalf.

Dear _________________,

I am a concerned parent writing to ask for your leadership.  Our county needs to reduce the incidence of teen driving deaths and injuries.  Vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for teens—more than drugs, homicide and sucide combined!  Driving simulators are a low cost, high return investment that we can make right now.  A recent segment on the Dr. Phil show highlighted the dangers associated with distracted and poorly trained teens on our roads.  They featured a driving simulator provided by Virtual Driver Interactive (headquartered in California) that would provide our teens with the experience needed to detect and respond appropriately to high-risk situations.

Driving is a life skill that needs to be prioritized by both schools and parents.  What can we do to implement such a program in _______________ County Schools?

Sincerely,
