The new Virtual Defensive Driving Course combines the proven Defensive Driving Course curriculum with actual behind-the-wheel driving in a simulated environment.  The virtual driving instruction allows drivers to gain important insight AND experience in potentially hazardous situations.

Many detailed concepts presented in the original DDC training, such as separation distances, collision avoidance, and the dangers of driving under the influence, are reinforced within the simulation.  This unique combination of sound instruction, combined with the latest high-tech tools, promotes a high “transfer of training” where skills learned on the simulator carry over to the real world

The VDDC course addresses an organization's most overlooked, yet costly problem.  Driving.  Traffic crashes are the #1 cause of death among American Workers.  And the costs don't stop there. Each crash and injury can impact workers comp, legal exposure, insurance, loss of productivity, etc.  DDC has been proven to reduce crashes.  And now is even more effective with simulation technology.

VDI has developed a proprietary Performance Assessment Scoring System (P.A.S.S.) which continually evaluates each driver on over 80 criteria, including speed control, turns and lane changes, following distance, mirror usage, and even whether they are wearing a seatbelt.  P.A.S.S. also produces a comprehensive report for each student, providing proof that the individual mastered each skill.
