"I completed the Drivers Simulation course.  It was useful.  In fact, it saved my life on Friday.  When I was driving home on Morse Rd. I used two of the tips that it gave which greatly helped me.  First I stopped at the stop sign post to give me adequate distance to see other drivers and allowed me to stop after I started moving into the intersection if there was a problem.  Also when I entered the 4-way stop I continued looking left and right as I entered the intersection.  As I was entering the intersection a Ford Econoline Blue van clearly was not going to stop to my left.  I was able to stop and the van slammed on the brakes, skidded and swerved around the front of me, missing me by a very close distance, stopping to my right and continued on.  The look of utter fear on her face was quite frightening.  If I hadn't seen that she was going to miss the sign she probably would have hit me directly on my drivers door, and unfortunately my Tahoe does not have side impact air bags.  I was conscious of the tips the simulator gave before, during, and after the near miss."
