08.30.06– Virtual Driver Interactive Announces Public Center Locations
San Ramon, Calif. - Virtual Driver Interactive (VDI), provider of driver improvement simulation systems for corporations and communities, now has several public centers offering both the Virtual DDC and the STREETReady™ driver training course for teens. The centers are open to anyone, including corporations, their employees or parents with teens, who would like to use simulation to improve driving skills.
Virtual DDC provides the same course content as NSC’s Defensive Driving Course 6/8 while engaging employees with the ability to practice what is taught in the curriculum via interactive simulations, giving employees actual behind-the-wheel experience in a safe, controlled environment.
Virtual DDC requires employees to pass 17 different interactive simulations, including: basic defensive driving concepts; the proper use of occupant restrain systems; how physical and emotional conditions affect driving ability; dealing with uncontrollable driving conditions; the top six unsafe driving behaviors; and defensive driving techniques for dealing with driving hazards and risks.
The STREETReady curriculum, for teens, reflects all essential aspects of vehicle operation. In addition, many of the more detailed concepts that are often presented in non-simulation information regarding separation distances, collision avoidance, risk avoidance, and the dangers of driving while impaired by drugs or alcohol are reinforced in the simulation lessons.
